The era of Park Dal Hyang has officially begun, with the release of the first gorgeous stills of Jung Yong Hwa in character as passionate young warrior and bodyguard-to-be Park Dal Hyang (the D’Artagnan of tvN’s loose adaptation of The Three Musketeers) following close on the heels of the dramatic declaration in the character teaser released yesterday proclaiming that “Soon, the era of Park Dal Hyang will come.”
We’ve also seen Lee Jin Wook delivering Crown Prince Sohyeon’s majestic call-to-arms in his own character teaser and set of stills, so we can presumably look forward to something exciting featuring Yang Dong Geun and Jung Hae In (our other two musketeers) sometime soon. In the meantime, however… boy, are these stills pretty to look at. Those flowing bangs of Yong Hwa’s are practically taking a life of its own – maybe it should be included in the cast credits.
By now, the PD behind Queen In Hyun’s Man and Nine has developed a well-deserved reputation for beautiful cinematography and the teasers and stills we’ve seen so far certainly back that up. If nothing else, this drama looks like it’ll be an epic visual feast.
If swashbuckling action and palace intrigue are your thing, then The Three Musketeers might just be the answer – it’s set to premiere in a month on tvN, Sunday August 17th.
