SBS drama “It’s Okay, It’s Love” has finally wrapped up filming this past Sunday (September 7th) after they started filming back in May, and whilst some of the cast had already shot their final scenes, it’s only fitting that the two actors to wrap up filming last were Gong Hyo Jin and Jo In Sung.
The released BTS photo of the last day shows the cast and crew looking emotional but happy despite shooting in the chilly outdoors, celebrating the close of camera with a cake, smiles and hugs all round. A member of the crew expressed that although they had to film during Chuseok the cast and crew were more than happy to do so, wanting to give their fans the most memorable ending, and that everyones commitment ensured a beautiful finish to the drama, with everyone bursting in to tears and embracing as the PD called “cut”.
The drama gained attention as it is one of the few to address the social stigma that is aimed at people with mental issues and through portraying it as a romantic comedy point of view, it is able to explore the discrimination realistically but without the heaviness that it would project if it was done as a serious drama. The quirky soundtrack which was used throughout the drama also helped ease the heaviness of the subject, not to mention bring to peoples attention some unknown indie artists. However it is writer Noh Hee Kyung who brought this subject to the public eye and got the audience thinking and guessing (especially when we were still in the dark about Jae Yeol’s illness) and the talent of the cast whom pulled off this drama perfectly, not to mention the production teams brilliant work in putting it all together and it is sad to say goodbye to such a brilliant drama.
It’s Okay, It’s Love airs its final episode tomorrow on the 11th of September on SBS.
